Through Prayer
We can do NOTHING without prayer. It is the undergirding and foundation of any ministry. Therefore you can become an active partner of the S.O.S. Mission by lifting us up in prayer and praying for specific needs of the mission. Please support S.O.S. in prayer today, as we seek solutions to some of our current needs:
Knowledge and Wisdom: Please pray for the staff of S.O.S that we will always seek God's will in every decision and every action. Our hope is to be a Godly example in opening our hearts and our doors to the beaten and downtrodden among us.
Mentor volunteers: These are people willing to donate a small portion of time with our program participants. We only ask for a mentor to spend 1-2 hrs every other week, to be a Godly example to young women who has had little in the way of positive role models in their lives. Please pray that God will send us Godly couples with a heart and passion for victims of domestic violence to work alongside us to break the cycle of abuse and violence that plague our communities.
A Van: Pray that God will supply us a van to help with transportation for participants to attend classes, support group meetings and worship services.
As A Volunteer
Mentor Couples: As mentioned above, we need mentor volunteers to simply spend quality time with participants. Take them to lunch, a picnic, art gallery. Just show them how life can and should be free from fear, anger, or violence.
Transportation: While we encourage our mothers to take advantage of all public transportation systems sometimes it is impossible to be everywhere one needs to be when trying to reshape their lives. S.O.S. is asking for volunteers to offer their time, gas and vehicle to help our families get where they need to be when public transportation is not practical or helpful.
Child Care: S.O.S. has the facilities, all we need are the volunteers. The Mission needs immediate help supervising the children of our mothers while they are on premises in classes, worship or counseling.
Support S.O.S. Financially
Your financial support is important to keep up the day to day operations of the ministry: training supplies, office supplies, utilities, etc. You can provide financial support by joining us in our Sustainability Campaign. Your donation of $25 per month will help assure we are here for those in need of our services. You can make your pledge using Paypal at the donation links provided.
